HVAC Priority Service — What It Means and When to Choose It

What Priority Service Includes

Priority service moves your call to the front of the queue — you are served before standard calls. Typical priority response: 1-3 hours vs 3-6+ hours for standard service. Priority service includes: guaranteed same-day service (even for afternoon calls), direct dispatch of the nearest available technician, and priority parts ordering (your repair parts are rushed).

When Priority Service Is Worth It

Priority service is worth the premium when: your home has no heat during freezing weather, you have vulnerable household members (elderly, infants, medically vulnerable), your system failure is causing property damage (water leak), you cannot take time off work for a technician visit, or you simply want the fastest possible service for peace of mind.

Priority Service Cost

Priority service premium: typically $50-150 on top of the standard diagnostic fee. Total priority service cost: $200-400 for the diagnostic visit (vs $150-250 for standard). Repair parts and labour are the same price as standard service — the premium is only for the priority dispatch. Some companies offer free priority service to maintenance plan members.

Safety Reminder

If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide or believe there is an immediate danger, leave the property and contact emergency services or the appropriate gas emergency authority. Do not remain inside — exit the building immediately and call for help from outside.
